Built in 1900, the Woerd Avenue Bridge was long overdue for replacement. Finally, after two years of waiting, neighbors saw work on the new bridge completed. Ribbon-cutting day had arrived—and with it the rain. In the third row of photos, above, is our mayor (left) and the local city councilor who promoted the project. In the next-to-last frame are the state engineers who oversaw the work. These photos I took (on a very dark day) for a local online news outlet.
