Finally, a sunny day! The light was beautiful, and the colors everywhere so vivid, that I felt it was a time to celebrate. I had used grayscale in my two previous Moody posts. There, it had served its purpose—to focus attention on the human interest aspect of the photographs, without the distraction of color. This day, however, color was the story. (See Moody and Moody II.)
When I first arrived, it was mid-afternoon, and Moody Street was strangely quiet. Neither cars nor people were much in evidence. "Ah, Today is Sunday," I thought. Within minutes, however, people appeared as if by magic. Many were heading for the restaurants and bars for which the street is justly famous. Below, I offer a few images captured from the sidewalk, including two shop window displays that caught my eye.
