Frank is a genial fellow, who gave me permission to take these photos. I struck up a conversation with him while he was taking a break from work as a subcontractor on a construction site. After a brief nap and a box lunch, he was asked by an associate, sitting next to him in the truck, whether a new laser measuring device could be made to work outdoors. The answer, apparently, was no—the daylight was too bright. After an all-too-short break, Frank went back to work.
