When we arrived at the Wagon Wheel nursery, we found that most of the flowers had been damaged by a brief, but heavy rain an hour earlier. So, I photographed the few flowers that had survived intact, and contented myself with leafy plants for the rest. But the leafy plants didn’t disappoint; they turned out to be rich in colors and textures.

Not a bad idea, I had flattered myself, going to a garden center for photo ops. But Nature has a way of deflating hubris. The photos appear about in the order taken.
