It was perfect day! I was relaxing over coffee and conversation, and became careless of my camera work. I paid for that negligence later in the photo editor, when I had to dig a couple of photos out of deep shadow.
The usual friendly families were missing that day. Perhaps they had all gone to the beach. The friendliest presence was the little dog. He was an Havanese, we were told, from Havana, Cuba,and his name was "Fidel." (This breed has a lush coat, but Fidel’s was trimmed for the hot weather.)
Several of the people photographed here were not patrons of the cafē, but were simply shoppers exiting the mall along the covered arcade where we were sitting.
