A grand promenade arcs along the south bank of the Charles River. It has seen relatively little activity since the onset of Covid-19. Now, with the return of warm weather, and vaccinations on the rise, we look forward to a day, soon, when it will once again be thronged with people.
This part of the promenade runs behind the historic Waltham Watch Factory, now converted to loft apartments. Shown in the photos is the terrace of an upscale restaurant housed in what I presume was an original administration building. The couple wrestling with the inflatable kayak apparently had a puncture that forced them to a sudden change of plan. You can see them departing the scene in the third-to-last photo.
