It was the first warm day in March, and it brought forth a flood of visitors to the street. The late afternoon sunlight slanted in from the west—so bright, it was almost blinding. I struggled to tame it in-camera, and then later in my editing software.
My goal that day was to see if I could fill the frame with my street photos, so they would present big and bold onscreen. That meant getting closer to the subjects—which I did by positioning myself physically closer, and by using a slightly longer lens. The clutter of cars is unfortunate. In a few weeks time, I expect the street will again be closed to vehicular traffic—so its many restaurants can serve outdoors—and better photo ops will become available.
