Since Covid, the costumes have become fewer, simpler and plainer. The bright colors of years past have given way to black and earth tones. That’s not to say folks didn't have a good time this year; they did. But inflation has robbed many of the means for creating elaborate themed costumes, which can be expensive. As a result, this steampunk festival seems destined to become a broader celebration of spring, a time of rebirth.
