Felton Street, I suspect, was a flourishing commercial byway in the 19th Century, but it has long since fallen on hard times. It is now a haphazard collection of buildings from every period in its history. They fill an important need, however: they shelter a variety of small, niche businesses that could not afford higher rents elsewhere.
I started out this cold, gray day to look for little, long-overlooked items of interest on the street. But the late March cold put short shrift to that idea, and I came home with just these four photos.
