Downstairs at Felton Antiques is a ritual destination for antique lovers visiting Boston. It is a multi-dealer shop, each dealer having his or her own kiosk or display area, and each specializing in an antique category, such as art, furniture, housewares, jewelry, or pottery.
The brightly colored collections offered a refuge from the gray, lifeless day outside. In fact, it was a photographic bonanza. As I moved about taking photos, it dawned on me that these were more than curios. They were the remains of human lives, the leftovers, once important to someone—now stacked up neatly, merely goods for sale. It was a sobering thought.
The carpet was taken by my friend and neighbor, Sue, who has a good eye for photo opportunities.
